The vibe

The Provençal market on Place des Lices, right in the heart of Saint-Tropez, is held every Tuesday and Saturday morning, year-round. Around a hundred stallholders (food, textiles, crafts) set up under the square's century-old plane trees, around the 18th-century fountain.

What to know before you go

No official ban was found for this market, and several visitors mention that locals commonly come with their dog on a lead — a good sign, even though it is not an official confirmation from the town hall or the tourist office. The market can get fairly crowded at peak times (several reviews mention jostling): it's best to keep your dog close on a short lead.

Coco's tip: come towards the end of the morning to avoid most of the crowds — the market generally closes around 1pm.

Nearby

Saint-Tropez's harbour and cobbled lanes are a short walk from the square.
