The vibe

Starting from Plage de la Favière, this listed trail follows the coast past the Pointe de la Ris, Plage du Gaou, the Pointe de l'Esquillette and the Calanque de Porto Fino, with superb views of the Île du Levant, Port-Cros and the Corniche des Maures.

What to know before you go

Allow 7 km one way, so about 4h round trip. The route is fairly steep, with sections along cliff edges in places — a leash is strongly recommended. The trail can be closed in case of high fire risk: check risque-prevention-incendie.fr/var before setting off. Correction on parking: the Port de la Favière has more than 550 spaces, but half become paid in summer — free only from 16 September to 14 June (€0.45/15 min after 30 free minutes, €8/day in high season). The trail also runs alongside the Domaine de Bénat, private property reserved for its residents (no crossing possible), and doesn't connect directly to Cabasson without going back via the road.

Coco's tip: this trail is beautiful but exposed in places — check the fire risk level before setting off, and keep your dog on a leash near the cliffs.
