The vibe
On the western edge of the Var department, Bandol Dog Beach is one of the few beaches in this area designed entirely for dogs. A small pebble cove on the Corniche Bonaparte, just below the Deferrari stadium and facing Bendor island, where dogs can swim freely under their owner's eye. "Toutounet" poop-bag dispensers are available year-round.
What to know before you go
This is a compact spot — don't confuse it with the town's larger beaches. 2026 update: the works on the new Deferrari landscaped park (which had closed the historic car park on 5 October 2025 and led to a temporary "purge" of the dog beach in late 2025) are now complete — the park was officially handed over and opened to the public on 30 April 2026, with Bandol's mayor in attendance. The dog beach is fully accessible again, entirely renovated for the occasion, and pedestrian and vehicle access to the nearby boat ramp remains maintained. The official reopening announcement did not detail the final parking arrangements — if you plan to park there, checking on-site or with Bandol's tourist office is the safest bet.
Nearby
Bandol's town centre, with its harbour and café terraces, is just a few minutes' walk away — handy for extending the outing.
