The vibe

At the southern end of Pampelonne bay, the Bonne Terrasse cove was once a fishermen's haunt and is now much quieter than the large beach next door. Its white sand, among the finest in the area, stretches for about 150 metres facing the view of Cap Taillat. The customs officers' house, built under Napoleon I and recently restored, stands right at the water's edge. The beach is not supervised.

What to know before you go

As on the rest of the town's beaches, dogs on leash are allowed year-round at Bonne Terrasse, with no set hours. This rule, common to the whole Ramatuelle coastline, is confirmed by the tourist office and several specialist dog-travel guides that list Bonne Terrasse among the town's dog-friendly beaches.

Coco's tip: off-season, a small free car park sits near the beach. In summer, it's better to park at the paid Pampelonne car park (Bonne Terrasse area) and walk about 20 minutes along the coastal path, or take the stairs down from the nearest car park (about 10 minutes).

Nearby

The coastal path continues towards Cap Taillat and the Douane cove a little further south — a lovely way to extend a walk with your dog. A restaurant open year-round sits right next to the beach.
