The vibe

Fine sand and crystal-clear water at the far end of Pampelonne bay, with a view of Cap Camarat. Escalet has a practical little plus for four-legged visitors: two rinse showers side by side near the car park — not a dedicated dog shower, but ordinary showers you can happily use to rinse your dog after swimming.

What to know before you go

As on the rest of Ramatuelle's beaches, leashed dogs are allowed outside the supervised swimming areas — a rule confirmed on-site by a Ramatuelle town sign ("Keep your dog on a leash"). The Domaine de l'Escalet site (beach access) is open from 6am to 10pm, 7 days a week, according to the town's posted signage. Two ordinary rinse showers (not a dedicated dog shower) are available side by side near the car park — also handy for rinsing the sand and salt off your dog's coat after swimming. Fires are banned on site (municipal bylaw), and motorhomes are not allowed to park on the Domaine's private road.

Coco's tip: arrive early in the morning, before the car park fills up — late morning is the busiest time in summer.

Nearby

The coastal path links Escalet to Cap Camarat and its lighthouse, a lovely way to extend a walk with your dog after swimming.
