The vibe
This area has a real advantage: the two closest dog-friendly beaches (l'Hippodrome in Cagnes-sur-Mer and Vaugrenier in Villeneuve-Loubet) each have a dog shower, a real plus for an extended stay. The town of Cagnes-sur-Mer officially confirms, in its 2025 documentation, the existence of dog parks and off-leash areas in town, as well as a dedicated dog-swimming zone on Hippodrome beach, between groynes 1 and 2, equipped with water fountains and shaded areas.
What to know before you book
Several campsites in the area accept animals, but conditions vary a lot from one establishment to another, as is often the case with an area listing rather than a single establishment. Camping de l'Hippodrome, in Villeneuve-Loubet, accepts animals "depending on category" (category 1 and 2 dogs excluded), charges a surcharge, and closes its gates at night — confirmed by Destination Côte d'Azur, the official tourist office. Camping La Vieille Ferme, also in Villeneuve-Loubet, admits dogs and even has an on-site dog shower, according to pincamp.fr. Camping Le Colombier, in Cagnes-sur-Mer, accepts leashed dogs, but low season only.
Nearby
The Marina Baie des Anges, with its unmistakable architecture, is worth a look at the end of a walk on Vaugrenier beach.
