One thing to know first
Le Lavandou and its surroundings remain one of the trickiest areas of the Var for swimming with dogs — most beaches here are closed to dogs in summer. On the other hand, several campsites in the area happily accept pets.
The vibe
Between Bormes-les-Mimosas and the Corniche des Maures, Le Lavandou's family campsites make a good base for exploring the Maures massif and its trails, even without a beach directly accessible with your dog.
What to know before you book
For a swim, you'll need to head to Bormes-les-Mimosas (a tolerated zone near Fort de Brégançon) or Cavalaire-sur-Mer, about twenty minutes by car.
Coco's tip: the coastal path between Le Lavandou and Cavalière is walkable on a lead year-round, unlike the beaches.
