The vibe

Menton, the most dog-friendly town in the Alpes-Maritimes when it comes to beaches, also has several hotels welcoming dogs in its centre and around Garavan. Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, right next door, rounds out the options.

What to know before you book

Given its proximity to the Garavan dog beach and the Golfe Bleu beach, this area is particularly handy for a seaside stay with your dog without long journeys. The Garavan dog beach, confirmed active in an update from 15 December 2025, sits just past the Garavan harbour, towards the Italian border. The Golfe Bleu beach in Menton and the Plage de la Piscine in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin are also confirmed dog-friendly, giving you three swimming options for your dog without leaving the area.

Coco's tip: the Italian border is just a few minutes from Menton — a good way to extend the exploration beyond the French Riviera.

Nearby

La Pointe des Douaniers in Cap-d'Ail, also dog-friendly, adds to the area's swimming options.
