The vibe

The Negresco is more than a hotel: it's a Nice landmark, its pink dome recognisable from afar on the Promenade des Anglais. And contrary to what you might expect from such a prestigious palace hotel, dogs are welcome throughout the establishment, not just in rooms and suites — confirmed by several consistent customer reviews.

What to know before you book

The welcome is particularly thoughtful: a dedicated dog blanket is set up in the room, two bowls are provided (water and food), a litter box is also offered, and room service offers adapted menus if your dog's food was forgotten. A 2026 guide even mentions a pet package including a bed, bowls and a map of nearby parks, with a weight limit of around 10 kg — but this source is not the Negresco's own official website, so treat it with caution. A stay here is obviously a significant investment, and neither the maximum weight allowed nor any possible surcharge is officially published — it's best to call the hotel directly for these details. But for a special occasion, it's hard to find a more iconic spot on the French Riviera for a stay with your dog.

Coco's tip: La Lanterne beach, the only dog-friendly beach in Nice, is at the far end of the Promenade — plan for a walk or a taxi.

Nearby

The Old Town of Nice and its lively streets are a few minutes' walk away, to extend the outing with your dog after the stay.
