The vibe

A real dog paradise on the French Riviera: on the two Lérins islands, every beach and cove is accessible to dogs kept on a leash. More than 28 spots have been recorded across Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat, plenty to vary your walks on each visit.

What to know before you go

Access is only by ferry from the port of Cannes — remember to check that your chosen ferry company accepts dogs on board, and plan to arrive early in summer to avoid the crowds on the first crossings.

Coco's tip: Sainte-Marguerite is larger and wilder, ideal for a proper forest walk before the swim — Saint-Honorat, with its abbey, is quieter but smaller.

Nearby

The port of Cannes, the departure point for the ferries, is full of terraces for a break before or after the crossing.
