The vibe
The town's five official beaches (Miramar, Tamaris, Argentière, Pellegrin and Pansard, per the town hall's own site ville-lalondelesmaures.fr) don't include any "Bormettes beach" — that name actually refers to a historic neighbourhood of La Londe, built around the old factory and its theatre, set back from the coast rather than a beach in its own right. After checking, the sector where dogs are actually tolerated is on the eastern part of Tamaris beach, between Tamaris and Argentière — independently confirmed by Le Lavandou's tourist office (which names "Tamaris beach... on its eastern-most part" as a dog-friendly alternative nearby) and by a site specialised in dog-friendly beaches.
What to know before you go
Important change to flag: according to that same specialised site (dated update from June 2026), dogs are no longer allowed on Argentière beach itself as of that date — information I could not confirm directly with the town hall or the intercommunal tourist office (mpmtourisme.com), whose beach listings don't address the dog question. As far as my research goes, the tolerated sector therefore remains the stretch of coastline between Tamaris and Argentière. The precise dog swimming hours (sometimes cited elsewhere as 6-9am and 7-10pm in summer) could not be confirmed by a second reliable source — check the on-site signage. As on most beaches in this area, the leash and respect for supervised swimming areas remain the rule.
Nearby
Cani Plouf in Le Pradet is about a twenty-minute drive away, for a change of scenery. A coastal path starts at the eastern end of Argentière beach and reaches, via Pellegrin beach, the Fort de Brégançon area in Bormes-les-Mimosas (about 9 km).
