The vibe
The big seaside meeting point for people from Toulon: four sandy coves (Lido, Mistral, de la Source, des Pins), a large tree-lined park, waterfront restaurants and over 1,300 free parking spaces. It's one of the busiest spots in the city, summer and winter alike.
What to know before you go
New update for 2026: the harmonised rules for the Mourillon beaches, set the previous year, were adjusted for summer 2026 — dogs on leash are now allowed year-round with no time restriction on the Promenade Henri-Fabre. Before this change, a stricter tolerance applied in summer (only 6am-8.30am in the morning, from 1 June to 31 August); that time window no longer applies since the 2026 update. In all cases, dogs remain banned on the sand, the lawns and the Plaine des Sports. Category 1 and 2 dogs must additionally be muzzled. Non-compliance with these rules is punishable by a €135 fine.
Two dedicated dog areas round out the offering in the same area: a dog park with two off-leash enclosures (small dogs / medium-large dogs), and a swimming area reserved for dogs on the Anse Tabarly peninsula.
Nearby
Fort Saint-Louis and the Mourillon acclimatisation garden are just steps away, as are the Mourillon dog park and Anse Tabarly, to extend the outing after a walk by the sea.
