Near the hilltop village of Mons, in the Var, the Pont de Mons is a still-low-key swimming spot on the Siagnole, where dogs are welcome on a leash.

The vibe

A still fairly low-key swimming spot on the Siagnole, below the hilltop village of Mons. The water is cool, with waist-deep stretches, and the atmosphere stays unspoilt thanks to the limited parking.

What to know before you go

Parking is very limited (about 3 spaces) on the side of the road towards Mons; a path then goes down to the Pont de Mons. If it's full, the area around the Pont de Siagne, a bit further on, is a good alternative.

Coco's tip: get there early to find a parking space — it's a fairly well-kept secret, but it fills up fast in summer.
