The vibe
At the Port de la Darse, one of the most authentic corners of Villefranche-sur-Mer, La Corderie serves Mediterranean cuisine with Provençal touches under a large plane tree that shades the terrace. A petanque court is even available to customers during opening hours — the place has the feel of a holiday meal between boats and games of boules.
What to know before you go
Customer reviews posted on booking platforms mention a dog welcome, with a water bowl and a cushion offered during previous visits — but a more recent review qualifies this, noting that "neither cushion nor water bowl" were available during their visit: the practice exists, then, but is apparently not systematic. This information comes from customer feedback and not from the restaurant's official website: confirming by phone before you come remains a sensible precaution, especially in high season when the terrace is in high demand. Wheelchair access, a baby-care area and wifi are available on site. Open year-round, lunch and dinner, except Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
Nearby
The citadel of Villefranche-sur-Mer and the old town are a few minutes' walk away, as is the promenade running along the bay, one of the most beautiful on the French Riviera.
