The vibe

Also known as plage du Port, Plage Vespins sits right next to the Saint-Laurent-du-Var tourist office, at the mouth of the Var river. Dogs can walk here on a leash year-round, with a swimming area explicitly reserved for them.

What to know before you go

Access is allowed year-round under three combined conditions: leash required, systematic picking-up after your dog, and the owner being responsible for their dog's behaviour. The dog swimming area is clearly marked by two posts at the end of the beach.

Coco's tip: this is one of the few beaches in the Nice area where dog swimming is explicitly allowed year-round, not just leash walking.

Nearby

The Saint-Laurent-du-Var harbour and its waterfront restaurants are right next door, handy for extending the outing.
