The vibe
Until recently, all of Saint-Raphaël's supervised beaches were off-limits to dogs during the summer season, even on leash. The town changed course for summer 2026 by opening a stretch of Beaurivage beach to dogs, right in the town centre, between Veillat beach and the Santa-Lucia marina. It's a real first for dog owners in the area, who until then had to fall back on the coves or on neighbouring Fréjus.
What to know before you go
The dog area is marked off between the Diana jetty and the breakwater next to the lifeguard station. Dogs must stay on leash on the access paths and across the whole beach; they can, however, be let off briefly in the water, right next to their owner. Category 1 and 2 dogs are not allowed, and every dog must be identified (microchip or tattoo) as required by regulation, under the constant supervision of an adult. A poop-bag dispenser is provided at the entrance.
Nearby
Jardin Beaurivage, just behind the beach, is a pleasant dog-friendly green space for a break in the shade. Saint-Raphaël's town centre, its shops and its seafront promenade are also just steps away. This same stretch of beach is also listed on Handiplage (labelled access for people with disabilities), a useful point if you're travelling with someone with reduced mobility as well as your dog.
