The vibe

V2U (Vétérinaires 2 Toute Urgence) is a national network of clinics dedicated solely to veterinary emergencies, present in several major French cities (Marseille, Aix, Lyon, Montpellier, Rennes...) since 2012. The Toulon branch, on route de Marseille, covers the area.

What to know before you go

The clinic takes over from regular vets outside their opening hours: on weekdays from 7pm to 8am, from Saturday 12pm to Monday 8am, and 24/7 on public holidays. A national network line (09 70 24 70 24) is also available in addition to the local number.

An important point of transparency: several independent review round-ups report recurring complaints about the phone reception (waiting, a tone seen as abrupt for simple questions), and one review describes care the client found disappointing. These reports coexist with positive reviews praising a professional and competent team — so this is a mixed reputation rather than a uniformly bad one, and above all: no review found reports an unreachable emergency line or an unstaffed on-call shift (unlike a case already documented on this site for another clinic, where the emergency badge had to be removed). We are therefore keeping the confirmed emergency status, but with this caveat about the reception.

Coco's tip: since the V2U network is present in several major cities across the region, this same local branch number can be worth remembering even if you move elsewhere in PACA. If you face a wait on the phone in a stressful moment, stay patient — several reviews mention this without it signalling a problem accessing the emergency service itself.
