The vibe

At the end of the Verdon gorges, the Vinon-sur-Verdon lake offers a quieter and less spectacular alternative to Sainte-Croix — but also much less crowded at the height of summer, which makes it a good option for a dog that doesn't like crowds.

What to know before you go

This is mainly a local leisure lake, more modest than the big reservoir lakes of the Verdon, but it offers a genuine cool-down stop at the end of a trip through the gorges.

Coco's tip: handy if you're coming back from the Verdon gorges at the end of the day and want one last swim before hitting the road.

Nearby

Manosque, a few minutes away, is a good stop for shops or a restaurant after the swim.
