The vibe

At the eastern edge of the Bormes coastline, between La Favière harbour and Le Lavandou, Le Gouron beach marks the border with the neighbouring town — right where Le Lavandou, just beyond, outright bans dogs from its 12 beaches from 1 April to 31 October. Bormes-les-Mimosas stands out as a notable exception right at this border.

What to know before you go

According to Bormes-les-Mimosas town hall's official site, which restricts dogs to specific zones from 15 June to 30 September, Le Gouron is one of only two allowed exceptions in high season, along with the small Fort de Brégançon beach at the other end of town. Outside that strict window, access is naturally free. Only assistance dogs are allowed on the rest of the town's beaches year-round.

Coco's tip: handy if you're coming from Le Lavandou and want a real beach with your dog without waiting for sunset — Le Gouron is right there as soon as you cross the town line.

Nearby

La Favière harbour and Bormes-les-Mimosas town centre are a few minutes away. Le Lavandou, just beyond, goes back to a total ban on its 12 beaches in season.
