The vibe

Shaded by reed screens in the bends of the Treizain road, La Moune is the only "proper" developed beach in the town of Gassin — partly private and dedicated to a sailing school (courses, private lessons, equipment rental), with a relaxed, sporty feel. It's a small sandy beach that Wikipedia calls "hidden", on the southern flank of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.

What to know before you go

Dogs on leash are allowed, confirmed both by Gassin's tourist office (gassin.eu, tagged "pets welcome") and by the Var department's own tourism board (visitvar.fr), which lists La Moune and Le Treizain among the department's official dog-friendly beaches — owners are asked to pick up after their dog. Access is free, open daily from 1 April to 31 October.

Coco's tip: this isn't a spot for serious open-water swimming — sailing-school students practise just offshore, so keep your dog close to the shore.

Nearby

Le Treizain beach is right next door, on the same road. The hilltop village of Gassin, listed among France's "Most Beautiful Villages", is a few minutes' drive away.
