The vibe

On the road linking Gassin to Saint-Tropez, Le Treizain beach — also known as Malleribes, after an old tramway stop — offers an open view across the gulf, with Saint-Tropez and Sainte-Maxime in the background. It's one of Gassin's three beaches, with free, year-round access.

What to know before you go

Dogs on leash are allowed, confirmed both by Gassin's tourist office and by the Var department's own tourism board (visitvar.fr), which lists Le Treizain among the department's official dog-friendly beaches — owners are asked to pick up after their dog. The beach is accessible year-round, with no booking or entry fee.

Coco's tip: come in late afternoon to enjoy the gulf view with your dog, when the light over Saint-Tropez is at its best.

Nearby

La Moune beach is right next door, and the hilltop village of Gassin inland rounds out the visit easily.
