The vibe

In the south of the town, right next to Fort de Brégançon (the French presidents' summer residence since 1968, its silhouette visible to the left facing the sea), Cabasson beach stretches over 375 metres of fine sand, backed by small vegetated dunes that shelter it from the wind. To the right, the coastal path leads on to l'Estagnol.

What to know before you go

The dog rule is precise and well documented by two converging official sources: the town hall's own site (ville-bormes.fr) states that from 15 June to 30 September, dogs on leash are only allowed "on the part of Cabasson beach near the Fort (east side of the rocky breakwater)" — in practice, the small Fort de Brégançon beach right next door, which has its own official listing stating "Animals are welcome". On the rest of the main Cabasson beach itself, the tourist office confirms dogs are allowed from November to March, but not in season. Only assistance dogs remain allowed everywhere year-round.

Coco's tip: in high summer, don't just settle anywhere on Cabasson with your dog — head straight for the small Fort beach, on the east side of the rocky breakwater, the only zone allowed during that period.

Nearby

Fort de Brégançon beach is right next door (same car park). The coastal path to l'Estagnol starts from this same car park.
