The vibe

At the foot of the Rayol village, this pebble-and-sand beach enjoys a green setting, right below the famous Domaine du Rayol and its terraced Mediterranean garden. Open views across the bay, between Cavalaire and Le Lavandou.

What to know before you go

Dogs are allowed on this beach, but banned from 8am to 7pm between 1 June and 30 September, a seasonal rule confirmed both by the Golfe de Saint-Tropez tourist office and by the town hall itself in its municipal newsletter "Carnets du Rayol-Canadel-Pramousquier" — the same rule as on the neighbouring Canadel and Pramousquier beaches. Outside that period or those hours, access is free, provided you pick up after your dog.

Coco's tip: come early morning or late in the day in high summer to enjoy the beach with your dog, or visit in autumn or spring for free access all day.

Nearby

The Domaine du Rayol, a remarkable garden overlooking the beach, does not allow dogs, even on leash — worth knowing if you're planning to visit both. Canadel beach is nearby, and Pramousquier beach is 2 km away via the Voie Verte.
