The vibe
At the eastern tip of the peninsula, Les Salins beach stretches for 500 metres in an unspoiled natural setting, far from the bustle of the town centre. Its clear, transparent waters make it a popular family beach, even though they're sometimes partly covered with dried seagrass carried in by the current — a natural phenomenon that actually protects the beach from erosion.
What to know before you go
As on the town's other beaches, the July 2026 municipal order allows dogs on leash from 6am to 9.30am and 6.30pm to 10pm, from 16 July to 15 September; banned the rest of the day during that period, with more relaxed rules off-season. The regional tourism board's own listing (which reproduces Saint-Tropez Tourisme's data) instead says "animals not allowed", with no mention of hours — a listing last updated in September 2025, so most likely predating the July 2026 order rather than a genuine exception, though that isn't guaranteed. Check the signage on site before settling in with your dog.
Nearby
To the west, a coastal path links Les Salins to the La Moutte headland, skirting the rocky point. Saint-Tropez's town centre is several kilometres away, reachable by car or the shuttle.
