The vibe
La Moutte is arguably Saint-Tropez's wildest beach — and everything about it makes it hard to find. This 300-metre stretch of fine sand bordered by reeds and low vegetation owes its preservation to a donation by Annette Troisier de Diaz to the coastal conservation foundation: no shops, no restaurants, not even showers or toilets, just an open view across the Gulf of Saint-Tropez towards Sainte-Maxime on the far shore.
What to know before you go
Access is via Chemin des Treilles de la Moutte, which runs through a private residential estate: park before the barrier, then walk down the path — pedestrian access to the sea remains allowed despite the private-looking surroundings. As on the town's other beaches, the July 2026 municipal order allows dogs on leash from 6am to 9.30am and 6.30pm to 10pm, from 16 July to 15 September; banned the rest of the day during that period, with more relaxed rules off-season. This beach's tourist-office listing, however, shows "dogs not allowed" with no mention of hours at all — most likely a listing that hasn't been updated since the order rather than a genuine exception, though that isn't guaranteed. Check the signage on site.
Nearby
A coastal path runs from La Moutte headland to Les Salins beach, less than a kilometre away. To the west, Canebiers beach is about 2.3 km off.
