The vibe
Perched on the hills above Saint-Tropez with an open view over the gulf, this luxury château-hotel (Airelles collection) has extensive grounds, a spa and an outdoor pool — and welcomes dogs for a high-end stay in the French Riviera's most sought-after area. The establishment is confirmed by many sources (Wikipedia, the Michelin guide, Booking, Tripadvisor, the official airelles.com site).
What to know before you book
Dogs being welcome is confirmed, but sources clearly contradict each other on the supplement: some platforms (Booking) list it as free, while another (BringFido) states €50 per animal per night. Rather than display a figure that could be wrong, we suggest confirming directly with the hotel when booking. No reliable information was found either on possible size or breed restrictions, or on dogs' exact access to the pool or restaurant — also worth asking at booking, as this access is generally restricted in 5-star hotels. Pampelonne beach (Tahiti area), where dogs on a lead are tolerated outside supervised zones, is about 2.2 km away, under 10 minutes by car.
Nearby
Saint-Tropez's historic centre, with its lanes and yacht harbour, is easy to visit by car or shuttle from the hills above — the town-centre beaches and the Place des Lices market are not to be missed. By the sea, Pampelonne beach and the beach restaurant Le Migon round out the outing nicely.
